When You Need a Prosthodontist
A prosthodontist is a specialist in tooth replacement
and the management of occlusion and craniomandibular
disorders. Prosthodontists typically have two
to three years of specialized training after becoming
a dentist. A maxillofacial prosthodontist also
provides reconstructive services for patents with
traumatic facial injuries, birth defects such
as cleft palates, and patients who have undergone
surgery or radiation treatment for cancer.
The dental services we provide at
Providence Prosthodontics encompass the smallest
fillings to complete oral reconstruction involving
all twenty-eight teeth including dental implants,
occlusal treatment and esthetic dentistry procedures.
Occlusal treatment refers to treatment of malocclusion
("bite" problems) which are a primary
cause of head, neck and shoulder pain as sell
as sore teeth, muscles and jaw joints. Malocculusion
is related to ear-ache, ear congestion, tinnitus,
vertigo and hearing impairment.
